#Khaled_Sofi: Renewal of the accreditation of the Authority's laboratories is an international certificate on the efficiency of tests and the accuracy of the results
In a new achievement that reflects the leadership of the Egyptian_General Authority for Standardization and Quality in supporting the national quality and infrastructure system, the Authority has succeeded in renewing the accreditation of the Microbiological Laboratory in the General Administration of Central Laboratories in accordance with the international standard #ISO_IEC_17025_2017 issued by the National Accreditation Council, which confirms the Authority's continued commitment to the application of the highest international standards in the efficiency of laboratories and the accuracy of test results, and enhances confidence in its services at the local and international levels.
Dr. Khaled_Soufi, Chairman of the Standards and Quality Authority, stressed that the renewal of the accreditation of the laboratory is a new international certificate on the efficiency of the Authority's laboratories and the accuracy of its results, and reflects the success of the Authority's strategy in developing its central laboratories in accordance with the latest international standards, thus enhancing its position as the national house of expertise in the fields of testing, standardization, quality and accreditation.
He explained that obtaining and renewing the accreditation represents an international recognition of the efficiency of the work system within the laboratories, the efficiency of the technical staff, and the reliability of the testing services provided by the Authority, pointing out that the development of laboratories and the upgrading of the accreditation system is at the top of the Authority's priorities to support the Egyptian industry and enhance the quality of the Egyptian product.
He added that the Authority continues to implement its vision to build a strong national quality system that contributes to removing technical obstacles to trade, enhancing the access of Egyptian products to foreign markets, and increasing the competitiveness of Egyptian exports, in implementation of the state’s directives to improve the quality of the Egyptian product and enhance the quality infrastructure system.
The scope of accreditation includes physical tests of oils, fuels and polymers, some chemical tests of water, food, detergents, edible oils and iron alloys, quantitative chemical analysis to estimate the mixing ratios of some tissue ores, in addition to microbiological tests of food and feed, which supports the state’s efforts to protect the consumer, enhance the quality of Egyptian products, and increase its competitiveness in global markets.
For his part, Dr. Khaled Abbas, Director General of the Egyptian General Authority for Standardization and Quality in Alexandria, said that the renewal of the accreditation of the Microbiological Laboratory is the result of the efforts of the team and its full commitment to the application of the requirements of the international standard, stressing that the laboratory provides high-efficiency testing services to various industrial sectors, thus contributing to enhancing customer confidence in the results of tests, and supporting manufacturers in the production of goods conforming to standard specifications.
He pointed out that the Authority continues to develop its technical and technological capabilities, and expand the scope of its laboratory services in line with the needs of the Egyptian industry and the requirements of regional and global markets, and enhances the position of the Egyptian General Authority for Standardization and Quality as the National House of Expertise in the fields of standardization, quality and testing.
